Moth


Ray Dye sent me this moth he caught in his Smithies garden on 14-8-12. Someone has told him it could be Engrailed or Small Engrailed. I think it is WillowBeauty/Mottled Beauty probably the former. What do think?

    I would agree that its a Beauty species. I use http://www.hantsmoths.org.uk/flying_tonight.php and have rarely failed to get an ID with it.

    Willow Beauty, f. rebeli, perhaps;
    at least that's what it resembles in Waring and Townsend.
