As part of Barnsley Bioblitz weekend a very enjoyable 'moth night' took place last night between 10pm and 12 mid-night on the south side of the Ings, near plenty of woodland. Present were Frank Botterill, Raye Dye, Derek Whitely and myself. Together with Frank's MV lamp and my 40 watt Actinic 20 macro species and several micros were identified. The best of the bunch included Peppered Moth, Sallow Kitten, Small Dotted Buff, Buff Arches and at least 3 Drinker Moths.
