following defeat by the glaring sun yesterday I decided to try the afters shift in an attempt to get at the goldies. Around 2,000 were swirling around as I reached the Field Pool West hide where I was greeted by a rapid harsh rattle. Surely a Ring Ouzel? Two hours later spent in the same area and nothing other than about six Blackbirds. Four Green Sands and a Kingfisher were the only other birds of note.

Late evening news from last night (Jeff Wragg): 3 Little Egrets roosted, 280 Wigeon, 3 Goosander, 2,000 Golden Plover, Barn Owl.
