Carlton Marsh update 7th July 2025

2 Oystercatchers were on the wader scrape.

3 Purple Hairstreaks were the first this year. 1 Painted Lady, 15 Red Admiral, 12 Peacock, 31 Comma, 26 Speckled Wood, 195 Meadow Brown, 117 Ringlet, 107 Gatekeeper, 3 Large Skipper, 36 Small Skipper, 5 Common Blue, 3 Small Copper, and 72 Large White.

Also of note 1m Ruddy Darter, 1 Pied Hoverfly (Scaeva pyrastri) (Chris Parkin).

2 Oystercatchers were on the wader scrape again (R. Laverack).

 

Littleworth Park - Monk Bretton 

1,406 butterflies of 18 species included 509 Meadow Brown, 162 Ringlet, 423 Gatekeeper, 2 Holly Blue, 10 Common Blue, 4 Small Copper, 1 Small Heath and 1m Brimstone (Chris Parkin).
