Rookerys i suspect are relativly  new are 2 small ones at the south side of the top lake. The westerly one as 9 nests and the one nearest cascade bridge as 14. Another small rookery is on Jebb Lane at Haigh Hall which as 9 occupied nests. None of these 3 sites were known to me in the 2010 survey. Comments welcome. Cheers. + has anybody had reliable news of l.s. woodpecker in the area? I'm beggining to think ther'e not there any more.

The small rookery on the south side of the upper lake and on the west side has been in existence for a few years and about the same number of nests but the cascade bridge group is new to me this year and seen on my recent visit. I have been a number of times and not had L S Woodpecker perhaps with the felling and increase in visitors they have moved on?
