The Edge 15th April

Broomhill Flash - Birds seen , by the time I got there at 10am , included 1 Grey Heron,  6 Little Grebe, Canada Geese, 14 Tufted Duck, 8 Wigeon, 7 Gadwall, 4 Mallard, 3 Teal, 2 Shoveler, 1 Goldeneye, 2 Redshank, 2 Snipe, 1 Buzzard, 1 Common Tern(c.8.45am), 2 imm LBB Gull, 187 BH Gull, 12 Swallow, 2 Sand Martin and 1 Willow Warbler.

WarblerWay- Walked onto Bolton Ings from Broomhill village for the first time in months, A good start with 2 White Wagtails in the field  next to the Dearne. Along The Way to the Cormorant Hide 9+ Chiffchaff, 3 Willow Warbler, 3+ Wren and 3+ Chaffinch were heard singing.

Bolton Ings early PM- On the open water were 6+ Little Grebe, 3 Great Crested Grebe, 3 Mute Swan, 68 Gadwall, 54 Tufted Duck, 25 Pochard, 8+ Mallard, 2 Wigeon, 2 Shoveler, 1m+1f Goosander and 2 LBB Gull(1adult+1 imm). Also noted were 19 Canada Geese, 6 Greylag, 1 Kestrel, 3 Bullfinch and 2 Common Sandpiper.
