10 Redwings west were the first for this autumn and 30 Skylarks and 4 Meadow Pipits were on the top fields. Single Meadow Pipits trickled through thereafter (JP).
A little later 5 Buzzards were in the air together, 12 Starlings flew over and 4 Red-legged Partridges were in a nearby field (L & Corrall).
A Grey Wagtail was seen near the cottages and a Siskin (the first for this autumn) was in the car park (CG).
At mid-day butterflies included 4 Red Admiral, 1 Peacock, 1 Small Tort. 18 Comma, 4 Speckled Wood, 7 Small Copper, 4 Small White and 1 Large White.
2 male Vapourer moths were on the wing along with 1m Southern Hawker, Migrant Hawker and 9 Common Darters (C. Parkin)
