Carlton Marsh

Although we have 2 singing Reed Warblers and 2 Sedge Warblers, there must be more held back by the northerlies. Also present 1 Lesser Whitethroat and c10 Blackcap. Oystercatcher 1 north 07.40 and 30 Swifts moving north between 08.45 & 10.30 and a few Swallows. Also 8 Wheatears (Jim Plant)
A Harvest Mouse servey recently undertaken by Derek Whiteley, of Sorby Naturalists, revealed 3 nests.

Also, the 2nd Yorkshire record of the anthomyiid fly, Chirosia similata.
