Because of the cold and cloudy conditions,
large numbers of hirundines and swifts were feeding low over all the water
bodies. Totals for the area were: Swallows 330, House Martin
140, Sand Martin 100, Swift 150.
The 2 Black Terns from yesterday were still
present on WRes. and CHRes.
Also around Wintersett Res - Common
Tern 5, Grasshopper Warbler 2, Garden Warbler 3, Yellow Wagtail 2 flew
north and 1 male on the Sewage Works.
Anglers CP - Common Sandpiper 1, Pink-footed Goose 1,
Curlew 1 -displaying in fields.
Highlight today: 1st singing Sedge
Warbler back on territory, west bank WRes.
