Substantial amounts of water have left both these areas even though the river level is back up quite high after yesterdays rain. Houghton in particular is looking good - the water logged crop appears to be dieing off leaving glorious mud and presumably plenty of food judging by the 350 Black-headed Gulls feeding on there. Also a single Redshank and about 60 Lapwings. The water level on Edderthorpe is still about a metre too high and that lot will take some moving, especially if it keeps raining. Only things of note;- Pochard 4, Heron 6.
