The Edge 15th July

Summer time and the birding aint easy.
Moths are flying and the cotton grass is high.
 
 
Broomhill Flash mid AM- Present were 1 Cormorant, 15 Little Grebe, 2 Mute Swan, 87 Canada Geese, 1 Greylag,  6 Gadwall(broods9,8,1), 5 Tufted Duck(broods 8,7,5,4,2), 2 Shoveler, 1 Mallard and 1 Kestrel.
 
Bolton Ings Late AM- Singing males 4 Whitethroat, 3 Blackcap, 3 Chiffchaff and 2 Reed Bunting. On the water were 5 Little Grebe, 7 Cormorant, 4 Mute Swan+5 cygnets, 48 Canada Geese, 12 Greylag, 28 Tufted Duck(broods 13,9,8,6,4,3,1), 6Gadwall(broods 10,7), 3 Pochard, 2 Mallard,and 2 Shoveler. Also present were 10 Lapwing, 2 Oystercatcher, 2 Bullfinch, 2 LBB Gull and 1 Kestrel.
 
Wombwell Ings early PM- Present were 1 Grey Heron, 21 Greylag, 14 Mallard, 8 Gadwall,  1 Tufted Duck, 21 Lapwing, 7 LRP, 1 Oystercatcher, 1 Dunlin, 2 Yellow Wagtail, 5 Linnet and 1 Kingfisher.
