stoned?

Old Moor: The Night Heron was reported on the pager from the Wader Scrape hide at mid-afternoon but when Dave Waddington got there a short while later the scopes were trained on a large stone! This is not to say the original report wasn't correct and no doubt its not far away anyway. That said, we have yet to record it this month. Birds that definitely were there today include Spoonbill, LRP, Turnstone, 3 Spotted Redshank, 16 Ruff, and 10 Black-tailed Godwits.

Broomhill highlights: 5 Little Egret, Water Rail, 3 Greenshank.

Wombwell Ings: Wheatear.

Nothing further to be said now except that I'm off to see how the other half live. Maybe they will paint a bright picture although its probably more likely they will take the gloss off it! UTB!

In addition to John's highlights for Broomhill Flash, there were 500+ Canada Geese. Also one of the best spectacles of nature I and John Seeviour have witnessed at least 15000+ Swallows passing over Darfield and Wombwell Ings and if John was impressed you know it has to be good!
