A ringing session this evening produced 11 birds, 2 Robins, 3 Blackcaps, 2 Whitethroats, 1 Chiffchaff and 2 Reed Warblers one of which was our first juvenile of the year. The other was an adult female in breeding condition Y681706 with a wing of 61 weight 12.6 grams. A quick call to Pete Smith confirmed it to be a bird he ringed at Wintersett on 18/8/2012. Will you send that to BTO please Martin.
Also of note was Water Rail and Willow Tit calling, our first Purple Hairstreak and an adult Fox with a well-grown cub.
