The Edge 15th September

Wombwell Ings - Birdwise a much better day than of late. Present were 2 Mute Swan, 7 Canada Geese, 202 Teal, 89 Gadwall, 19 Wigeon, 13 Shoveler, 5 Mallard, 2 Tufted Duck, 1 Pochard, 2 Little Egret, 1 Grey Heron, 2 Cormorant, 4 Little Grebe, 4 Moorhen, 1 Coot, 53 Lapwing, 9+ Snipe and 5 BH Gull.
 Broomhill Flash - Noted were 2a+5y Mute Swan, 7 Canada Geese, 48 Gadwall, 17 Mallard, 12 Tufted Duck, 4 Wigeon, 2 Pochard, 6 Cormorant, 1 Little Egret, 16 Little Grebe, 113 Coot, 8 Moorhen, 1 Kestrel, 1 Sparrowhawk, 12 Snipe, 2 LBB Gull, 3 Yellow Wagtail and 4 Linnet.
Bolton Ings East End- Highlight was a Whinchat seen briefly in the bushes along the dyke in front of the hide. On the open water were 1a+3y Mute Swan, 33 Canada Geese, 1 Greylag, 14 Gadwall, 12 Tufted Duck, 4 Mallard, 3 Pochard, 1 Teal, 3 Great Crested  Grebe, 15 Little Grebe, 102 Coot and 4 Moorhen. Also present were 2 Grey Heron, 3 Buzzard, 2 Sparrowhawk, 1 Kestrel, 77 Lapwing, 1 Black Tailed Godwit over at 12.20pm, 5 BH Gull and 1 Grey Wagtail.
