The Edge 14/03/2014

Wombwell Ings - Present were 94 Canada Geese, 6 Greylag, 85 Wigeon, 12 Shoveler, 10 Mallard, 10 Teal, 3m+5f Goosander, 8 Gadwall. 4 Tufted Duck, 2 Cormorant, 1 Grey Heron, 8 Coot, 4 Moorhen, 8 Lapwing, 2 Oystercatcher, 1 Redshank, 205 BH Gull, 3 Common Gull, 1 Common Gull, 4+ Skylark and 1 Mistle Thrush.
Broomhill Flash - Noted were 2 Mute Swan, 15 Canada Geese, 29 Gadwall, 22 Tufted Duck, 22 Teal, 19 Wigeon, 7 Mallard, 2 Pochard, 7 Little Grebe, 1 Little Egret, 1 Grey Heron, 40 Coot, 1 Moorhen, 7 Lapwing, 184 BH Gull, 14 Herring Gull and 2 LBB Gull. Also seen early morning were 2 Buzzard, 1 Peregrine and 2 Red Legged Partridge ( Peter Kent ).
Bolton Ings - On the open water were 3 Mute Swan, 3 Greylag, 21 Tufted Duck, 9 Mallard, 1m+2f Goldeneye, 1m+1f Goosander, 2 Gadwall, 7 Great Crested Grebe, 3 Little Grebe, 2 Cormorant, 158 Coot, 139 BH Gull and 3 Herring Gull. Also present were 1 Jay, 1 Grey Wagtail and 2 Bullfinch.
