3 Swifts, 2 Sand Martins and about 12 Swallows came in to feed at dusk and Water Rail called. Earlier a juv. Goldcrest was seen (CG/Dave Pointon/Andrew Corrall).

17 species of butterfly included 2 Wall Brown, 3 Brown Argus, 23 Small Blue, 3 Small Copper, 1 Purple Hairstreak and 18 Common Blue (Chris Parkin).

18 Swallows and a Wheatear were the bird highlights. There was an excellent show of 97 Wall Browns, its good to know that they are thriving on the uplands. There were also 7 Small Copper and a late Small Skipper (Chris Parkin).
