Not a lot to report migration wise this morning, but with plenty of beautiful chicks coming out of their shell it was enjoyable anyway. Best at Old Moor was at least two broods of Avocets (3,2) though I suspect there is more, meanwhile Black-headed Gull chicks were seemingly everywhere. Wombwell retains its reputation as a magnet to chicks too, with lots of Lapwings, at least two broods of Redshank (probably three) and best of all nine newly hatched Shelduck.
