Wintersett morning

Highlight this morning was a Red Kite which appeared over Haw Park at 11.10 and took ten minutes to drift over the Country Park eastwards. The same bird ( it has dishevelled outer tail feathers) then reappeared back over Haw Park a hour later and repeated the above manouvre. A Hobby also put in a appearance and a minimum of ten Common Buzzards were in the air enjoying the sunshine. A flock of 9 Shelduck dropped onto the Country Park lake mid morning, the female Goldeneye is still present (but no surprise there as it has a damaged wing), 2 first-summer Common Gulls and 10 Common Terns were also present late morning.
