Wintersett Catch Up 10th - 14th June 2014

Back from a  family jaunt to Dorset where the weather was above 20°C, blue sky,   and sunny all week.   I heard it was cooler and cloudier in the Barnsley area.

Anglers CP:  Redshank 1

Wintersett Res:  A Red Kite flew over south at 10.50hrs.   Cuckoo 1m.  Whitethroat  and Willow Warbler juveniles were on the east bank.
Anglers CP: Pochard 1m.  Common Tern 7.

Anglers CP:  Gadwall 3.

Anglers CP: A 1st Summer Little Gull was in.  The same bird had been at Pugneys earlier.   The young Common Tern fell off the raft.   Kingfisher 1 at 06.30hrs,  (possibly same bird seen later at MHLPonds)  Green Woodpecker 1 and  Water Rail 1 
Moorhouse Lane Ponds:  Gadwall 9 very small young.

Wintersett Res:  Grey Wagtail 1,  Sand Martin 2 flew NW,  Cormorant 5 SW,  Grey Heron 2.
Anglers CP: Common Tern 4.   Oystercatcher 4 adults + 3 young.   Lapwing 2 young.  Great Crested Grebe 3 young.
