The Edge 12th Feb

Wombwell Ings mid AM- Present were 2 Mute Swan, 118 Canada Geese, 2 Greylag, 3 Shelduck, 180+ Wigeon, 21 Teal, 16 Gadwall, 13 Mallard, 10 Shoveler, 8 Tufted Duck, 8 Moorhen, 3 Coot, 1 Grey Heron, 6 Lapwing, 160+ BH Gull, 2 Common Gull, 2 Skylark and 1 Pied Wagtail. In Broomhill Park were 8 Redwing, 1 singing Mistle Thrush and 1 Treecreeper.
Broomhill Flash late AM-Noted were 53 Canada Geese, 1 Shelduck, 34 Wigeon, 8 Pochard, 6 Tufted Duck, 1m+1f Goldeneye, 2 Teal, 2 Grey Partridge, 2 Cormorant, 60+ Lapwing, 188 BH Gull and 6 Common Gull.
Bolton Ings late AM/early PM- 2 Willow Tit were seen in the bushes close to the layby on the Old Moor RSPB entrance road. On the TPT good views were had of Greater Spotted Woodpecker, a Green Woodpecker and a Song Thrush.. On the open water of the Ings were 5 Mute Swan, 24 Tufted Duck, 14 Pochard, 14 Mallard, 3 adult male+1 juv male+5 female Goldeneye, 6 Teal, 3 Shoveler, 2 Great Crested Grebe, 33 Coot, 3 Moorhen, 94 BH Gull, 14 Common Gull and 2 LBB Gull. Also noted were 6 Canada Geese, 2 Grey Heron and 1 Cormorant.
