Wombwell Ings - The 597 Canada Geese and 123 Greylag formed an impressive sight amongst the straw bales in the back field and was only surpassed by an Osprey circling overhead before flying north towards Edderthorpe. Also present were 3 Mute Swan, 83 Gadwall, 31 Teal, 11 Shoveler, 7 Wigeon, 4 Mallard, 4 Tufted Duck, 4 Pochard, 2 Cormorant, 4 Little Egret, 1 Grey Heron, 1 Moorhen, c200 Lapwing, 4 Ringed Plover, 1 Dunlin, 3 BH Gull and 2 Yellow Wagtail.
Broomhill Flash - A low flying helicopter forced the Canadas and Greylags to leave the back field and settle on the flash making counting difficult ( Not able to see the ducks for the geese! ). However, Seev persevered and noted 2+6y Mute Swan, 386 Mallard, 40 Gadwall, 8 Tufted Duck, 4 Teal, 3 Pochard, 3 Shoveler, 21 Little Grebe, 3 Cormorant, 5 Little Egret, 72 Coot, 8 Moorhen, 14 Lapwing, 1 Common Sandpiper, 2 Kingfisher and 1 Swift.
Bolton Ings - Highlight was three distinctly different Marsh Harriers ( A cream crown, a cream crown/ cream shoulders and a ginger crown ). The cream crown circling over Bolton tip was also picked up by observers from Wath Ings hide, whilst the other two birds gave extended views over the reeds on the north bank of the east pool. Not quite as impressive was a Buzzard circling just above the tree line of Bolton tip, with a Hobby just above it and a Kestrel above the other two raptors. On the open water were 2+4y Mute Swan, 16 Gadwall, 8 Tufted Duck, 4 Mallard, 3 Shoveler, 2 Pochard, 7 Little Grebe, 2 Great Crested Grebe and 61 Coot. Also present were 4 Cormorant, 2 Grey Heron, 1 Little Egret, 63 Lapwing, 2 Greenshank, 1 LBB Gull, 1 Greater Spotted Woodpecker, 1 yaffling Green Woodpecker, 2 Lesser Whitethroat and 1 singing Chiffchaff.
