Turned into a decent day after a daunting start in very strong sw winds. Ewden valley, - turned into a retreat after an hour at the cabin in shocking wind. 4 juv Ring Ouzels were feeding on hawthorn berries and showed well. 2 Stonechats were on the stone wall not far from the entrance gate. Raven 4 at the cabin + C Buzzard 1, 2 Kestrels. Not much Meadow Pipit movement now with 17. Also Redpoll flock of 12 and 9 Redwing. Off to Low Moor mid afternoon where the wind had dropped. Hen Harrier here briefly before lost to view in shaw brook. C Buzzard 5, Kestrel 4, Sparrowhawk 1+. 200+ Redwing in the area, Raven 2, 2 Curlews very noisy around the res and nearby fields + 2 Lapwings. 2 calling Siskins over and Willow Tit eventually showing at the feeding station on fat balls after being heard only 3 times.
