Carlton Marsh

A group of 21 Herring and 4 LBB Gulls accompanied an immature Iceland Gull at 09.00hrs as they came in to the wader scrape, but as they were about to alight they saw a Fox on the prowl. The Iceland (probably a 2nd summer) quickly left south. I contacted Alan Stonier to keep a lookout at Edderthorpe, but he wasn't on site. This is the first record for this site since 20/2/1996.
A pair of Little Ringed Plovers were also present, one displaying. Also of note Kingfisher, Grey Wagtail, Buzzard, Garden Warbler, Cetti's Warbler and 11 singing Reed warblers.
