Carlton Marsh

Our wildlife group was hard at work this morning removing large stands of Willow from what was the disputed land. This large area now belongs to Barnsley Council and is at last part of the nature reserve. It will take all of this winter to remove all the scrub to return it to a wild flower meadow.

Birds today included 4 Mute Swans, a single drake Shoveler, 21 Herring Gulls, 6 Common Gulls, 1 Fieldfare, 2 Redwings, 2 Coal Tits, 1 Goldcrest and 2 Siskins.
