Wintersett 01.06.14

Up to 20°C  by midday.  Warm and mostly sunny with a very light southerly.
Anglers CP: Water Rail 1,  Mute Swan 6 y,  Oystercatchers 5adults  + 3 y19 pairs of Black-headed Gulls are nesting on the islands. Great Crested Grebe young 1 + 1 CHRes.
Wintersett Res:  3 Mallard broods 1m +  5fledged  + 6 L.   There was a brood of fledged Willow Tits at the SE corner.
Lepidoptera: Red Admiral 1 WRes.  The first Chimmney Sweeper moth of the year was in the NE corner WRes..
Yesterday Gerry McShane took these great action shots of an Oystercatcher being attacked by a Black-headed Gull and then attacking a Lapwing.
