The Edge 3rd April

Wombwell Ings mid AM-Two gunners on back field was the lowlight. Present were 3 Mute Swan, 6 Canada Geese, 4 Greylag, 2 Shelduck, 1 Egyptian Goose, 66 Wigeon, 14 Teal, 13 Mallard, 10 Tufted Duck, 8 Gadwall, 6 Shoveler, 1 Little Grebe, 1 Little Egret, 1 Grey Heron, 1 Cormorant, 12 Coot, 4 Moorhen, 13 Lapwing, 3 Golden Plover, 2 Avocet, 2 Snipe, 1 Redshank, 31 BH Gull, 4 Skylark and 1 Meadow Pipit.
Broomhill Flash late AM- Noted were 2 Mute Swan, 11 Canada Geese, 4 Greylag, 19 Tufted Duck, 5 Pochard, 4 Mallard, 4 Gadwall, 1 Teal, 1 Red Legged Partridge, 5 Little Grebe, 25 Coot, 4 Moorhen, 8+ Snipe, 6 Lapwing, 2 Kestrel, 262+ BH Gull and 2 LBB Gull.
TPT-1 Willow Tit(near Old Moor entrance gates), 1 Kingfisher, 2 yaffling Green Woodpecker, 1 drumming Greater Spotted Woodpecker and 6 Chiffchaff.
Bolton Ings late AM/early PM-On the open water were 3 Mute Swan, 11 Greylag, 7 Canada Geese, 15 Tufted Duck, 8 Pochard, 8 Mallard, 5 Goldeneye, 4 Gadwall, 4 Teal, 8 Great Crested Grebe, 6 Little Grebe, 45 Coot, 3 Moorhen, 344+ BH Gull, 2 LBB Gull and 2 Common Gull. Also present were 1 Kestrel, 1 Sparrowhawk, 2 Oystercatcher and 1 Grey Wagtail,
Yesterday, I forgot to mention a Willow Tit in front of the Cormorant Hide and the first Brimstone butterfly on the TPT.
