Hordron Road to Upper and return, 25/6/17.
Drizzle the problem here and almost a disaster when the rain got worse. Refuge was taken in the upper hordron barn with the weather clearing at 1-30 with good light. Barmings area had 1 chipping Snipe, Oystercatcher, Golden Plover, 2 juv Red Grouse and 2 Kestrels. Further up just before the long moor clough stream a family party of Stonechats with a male and 2 juvs showing. Lower hordron barn area had male Wheatear, 1 chipping Snipe, C Buzzard 3, Stock Dove 1 pair. Upper hordron barn area had 1 possibly 2 Merlin, 1 imm. Peregrine, 5 C Buzzard, 1 Kestrel. Raven 1 pair, Golden Plover 2, Stock Dove 1 pair, 13 LBB Gulls which spent all aft.on the moor. Also Mistle Thrush 6, 2 Redpoll over, 1 male Reed Bunting, 1 Lapwing chick, trickle of 15 Swifts going w. late aft. I assume the Ring Ouzels have gone with none seen anywhere.
