Carlton Marsh

New in today Willow Warbler and Blackcap both singing. On the wader scrape 2 Little Egrets, 13 Herring Gulls, 5 Mute Swans and 10 Teal.
A Water Rail called from Phragmites in the main marsh and 13 Chiffchaffs were singing along the embankment. Linnet and Greenfich flew over and there are at least 5 pairs of Long-tailed Tit on territories.

6 Peacock burtterfies were enjoying the warm conditions.

Chris Parkin walked to Ardsley Viaduct where he recorded a Green Woodpecker, and 2 Grey Wagtails.
His butterfly counts were 72 Peacock, 61 S. Tortoiseshell, 14 Comma, 2m Brimstone and 1 female Orange-tip.

Cudworth Common (Les Corrall)
2 Buzzards, 8 singing Skylarks, Chiffchaff and a small Plover in the Syphony compound, which was probably Ringed Plover, 27 Lapwings and a Brown Hare, an all to scarce animal these days, thanks to lampers.

A Small White butterfly sp. was on the wing with up to 3 Peacock butterflies.
