Carlton Marsh

Today's highlights were 2 singing Cetti's Warbler, Garden Warbler, Willow Warbler, Chiffchaff, Sedge and Reed Warbler all continuing to sing. An adult Buzzard was feeding 1 fledged young and a group of Song thrushes included fledged young. A new brood of 10 Gadwall and another older brood of 6 were also present. A Sand Martin hawking over the wader scrape was unusual. (JP/CG)

Insects included 1 Red Admiral, 2 Painted Lady, 4 Small Tortoiseshell, 8 Large Skipper, 1 Dingy Skipper, 8 Meadow Brown, 1 Common Blue, 12 Speckled Wood and 8 Small Heath.

2 Banded Demoiselle, 1m Broad-bodied Chaser and 2m Black-tailed Skimmer were also of note. (Chris Parkin)
