Carlton Marsh

A Garden Warbler was new in today (JP). There are now 5 singing Blackcaps, 5 Willow Warblers, 2 Cetti's Warblers, 3 Reed and 2 Sedge Warblers. An Oystercatcher was on the wader scrape first thing along with a pair of displaying Lapwings and 3 pairs of Teal. A single Meadow Pipit was on the fields and a Green Woodpecker was on the western meadow. A Grey Wagtail flew over and a new brood of 5 Canada Geese were seen (D. Smith /CG/LC/AC).

One of 3 Dark-edged Bee Fly seen today (CG).

Dearne Valley Park-Hoyle Mill
Kingfisher, Grey Wagtail, 6 Greylags, 2 Willow Warblers and 2 Whitethroat singing. 
There were no less than 6 Holly Blue, 59m Orange-tip, 2m Brimstone, 14 Comma, 36 Peacock and 21 S. Tortoiseshell (C. Parkin).
