The Edge 8th July

Wombwell Ings - Present were 12 Mallard, 7 Gadwall, 1+11y Shoveler, 1 Little Egret, 2 Coot, 3 Moorhen, 39 Lapwing, 1 Little Ringed Plover, 1 Kestrel, 2 Skylark and 1 Linnet.
 Warbler Way - Singing males included 8 Chiffchaff, 6 Blackcap, 5 Whitethroat, 1 Lesser Whitethroat, 1 Sedge Warbler and 1 Song Thrush. No Willow Warblers were heard on either leg of the return walk.
Bolton Ings - On the open water were 3 Mute Swan +11 cygnets, 12 Greylag, 9 Canada Geese, 122+22y Gadwall, 8+16y Tufted Duck, 11+4y Pochard, 4+1y Great Crested Grebe, 6 Little Grebe, 117 Coot and 2 Moorhen. Also present were 2 Lapwing, 1 Redshank, 1 Kestrel and 1 LBB Gull.
Broomhill Flash - Noted were 2 Mute Swan + 5 cygnets, 21 Canada Geese, 7+26y Gadwall, 6 Tufted Duck, 2+2y Mallard, 2 Pochard, 125 Coot, 9 Moorhen, 35 Lapwing, 1 Snipe, 1 Kestrel, and 1 LBB Gull. Earlier, Mick Rushton also had 6 Snipe, 1 Little Ringed Plover and 1 Green Sandpiper.
