Wombwell Ings - Highlight was the Spotted Flycatcher that Ken Foundation and I noticed briefly at 9.54am in the hawthorns near the Broomhill Park kissing gate entrance. Also present were 1 Mute Swan, 35 Canada Geese, 1 Greylag, 33 Mallard, 5 Gadwall, 4 Tufted Duck, 1 Cormorant, 2 Little Egret, 1 Grey Heron, 1 Sparrowhawk, 1 Kestrel, 3 Lapwing, 36 BH Gull, 1 LBB Gull and 2 Linnet.
Broomhill Flash -2+6y Mute Swan, 8 Greylag, 5 Canada Geese, 73 Gadwall, 23 Tufted Duck, 12 Mallard, 8 Pochard, 6 Shoveler, 18 Little Grebe, 1 Great Crested Grebe, 10 Cormorant, 4 Little Egret, 1 Grey Heron, 167 Coot, 27 Moorhen, 34 Lapwing, 4 Common Sandpiper, 4 Snipe, 1 Greenshank, 1 Sparrowhawk, 34 BH Gull and 5 Yellow Wagtail.
Bolton Ings - Best sighting was a Marsh Harrier being mobbed by three Kestrels over Bolton tip at high noon. On the open water were 1 Mute Swan, 6 Gadwall, 6 Tufted Duck, 4 Pochard, 1 Mallard, 10 Little Grebe, 1 Great Crested Grebe, and 41 Coot. Also present were 2 Grey Heron, 1 Lapwing, 1 Green Woodpecker, 2 Bullfinch and c50 Goldfinch.
