Today's amazingly warm sunny day was very close to my all time record for February at 17.5c (garden) just .5c short.
On the wader scrape 40 Herring Gulls, 21 Canada Geese, 7 Greylag Geese and a Fox. Elsewhere Goldcrest 2 singing, Siskin, 2 Song Thrush singing, Buzzard and GS Woodpecker 'drumming'. (DM Smith).
Butterflies on the wing were 7 Comma, 2 Peacock and 2 male Brimstone (Chris Parkin)
I saw my first 'White', either Green Veined or Small White, it didn't land (CG).

Last week Cudworth birder, Richard Laverack found a leg of a dead bird on the shore line at South Gare. The black leg had no feet, but it did bear a white darvic ring with the black letters HND. This bird was traced with the help of Kane Brides and below is the information from the BTO.
