The Edge 09/04/2019

Wombwell Ings - Present were 3 Mute Swan, 21 Canada Geese, 2 Greylag, 2 Shelduck, 68 Wigeon, 16 Teal, 15 Mallard, 12 Gadwall, 8 Tufted Duck, 7 Shoveler, 1 Cormorant, 2 Grey Heron, 14 Coot, 4 Moorhen, 6 + Lapwing, 5 Redshank, 2 Oystercatcher, 2 Ringed Plover, 1 Little Ringed Plover (P. Kent early AM), 46 BH Gull, 1 Herring Gull, 15+ Sand Martin, 2 Swallow, 1 House Martin, 2 Pied Wagtail, 2 Treecreeper, 1 Blackcap and 2 Linnet. A Cuckoo was reported early morning flying over Broomhill village.
Broomhill Flash - Present were 2 Mute Swan, 25 Canada Geese, 29 Tufted Duck, 28 Gadwall, 7 Wigeon, 6 Teal, 4 Mallard, 2 Shoveler, 2 Little Grebe, 2 Kestrel, 1 Cormorant, 22 Coot, 1 Red Legged Partridge, 7+ Lapwing, 3 Redshank, 2 Oystercatcher, 1 Little Ringed Plover and 2 LBB Gull.
TPT - Singing males 6 Chiffchaff, 6 Blackcap and 1 yaffling Green Woodpecker. Butterflies included  3 Speckled Wood, 2 Orange Tip and 1 Peacock.
Bolton Ings - On the open the water were 7 Mute Swan, 8 Greylag, 3 Canada Geese, 8 Mallard, 5 Pochard, 4 Tufted Duck, 2 Gadwall, 6 Great Crested Grebe, 3 Little Grebe, 3 Cormorant, 71+4y Coot and 12 Herring Gull. Also present were 1 Little Egret over east, 1 Jay, 3+ Sand Martin and 1 Grey Wagtail.
