South Kirkby - Carr Lane Pond
Dave Bamforth successfully twitched the Iberian Chiffchaff  for his Barnsley list, then, as he returned up Carr lane he  paused to look over the pond.  He was surprised to find a fine drake Ferruginous duck swimming around with a group of Tufted Ducks.    The unringed Feruginous Duck performed well,  and even made a short flight.  All salient ID features confirmed it was genuine.  He alerted the Twitterati and another twich was on.

When visiting please park with care and respect for residents.

Here's a selection  of  Ferruginous Duck photographs taken by Steve Denny.
