A late afternoon walk around in a testing NW breeze.
My first Swift of the year drifted west and there were 3 Swallows around. 13 Wheatear fed in groups and a male Stonechat stood guard on territory as did an unseen chipping Snipe. A Cuckoo called and a Curlew fed on the banking. No sign of the Dotterel. Up to 5 Buzzards were around as well as 10+ Linnet, 25+ Skylark, numerous Meadow Pipits and a male Reed Bunting. The Raven crossed the Chase carrying food towards its nest and an LBB Gull drifted southwards.
