Early evening stroll 4.30 to 6.45 in clear skies with some sun and a cold northerly wind.
Highlight was a singing Pied Flycatcher working its way around a patch in the woods. Also, a Woodcock briefly landed close to me at 6.30 before moving on with its legs trailing. A Tree Pipit sang strongly on the Chase/wood edge and a fine male Stonechat sat on a rock near a pylon on the Chase.
I checked over farmland to the north of the res and it was interesting to see a Curlew mob a Buzzard over their. Also 5 Swift, plenty of Willow Warblers, 4 Chiffchaff, single Blackcap and Garden Warbler, 2 Swallow and 2 Kestrel.
