A morning visit from Dave Woodriff had the following from Ewden Height/Broomhead Moor ..
Grey Heron - 2 - south ; Willow Warbler - 5+ - 4 singing around Thorpe's Brow ; Swallow - 100+ ; Meadow Pipit - 100+ ; Yellow Wagtail - 1 - south calling ; Spotted Flycatcher - 1 - Thorpe's Brow ; Stock Dove - 2 south ; House Martin - 5+ ; Lesser Black-backed Gull - 8 - 3+4 SE,1 NW ; Cuckoo - 1 - Juvenile being fed by host Meadow Pipit ; Lesser Redpoll - 2+ ; Osprey - 1 - Flew in eastwards before heading south towards Agden around 9.15am. ; Tree Pipit - 10 - 1+1+1+2+5 south ; Red Grouse - c40 ; Linnet - 5 - presumed family group ; Sparrowhawk - 1 ; Kestrel - 1
I did the 'afternoon shift' but it was fairly quiet .. The juv cuckoo was still present and I was able to add black grouse, raven , hobby and curlew to the list ..
