Old Moor August 12th

Early morning visit to Wath Ings,which contains a lot of mud,it's a waders paradise. 5 Little Egret, Garganey, Ruff, 3 Greenshank, 4 Green-Sanpiper, 2 Common-Sandpiper and Dunlin.

Yes the water levels are looking excellent at the moment.
But the last few weeks has confirmed that autumn wader passage starts in early July these days and not in the middle of August.
It was good to finally get to see one of the Garganey. One adult and one juv there today.
