Anglers CP VisMig: per Paul Meredith
An amazing morning for Meadow Pipits - never thought that we would better last years total but we have!. After a very slow start (no more than 30 in the first 1 1/2 hours) they started flooding through, running totals being:
08.55 - 09.25: 1000.
09.25 - 09.55: 2546 (reached 2000 @ 09.40).
09.55 - 10.20: 3500 (reached 3000 @ 10.09).
10.20 - 10.55: 9100 (totally bonkers - 5,600 in 35 minutes! - sky was full of waves of mippits on a very broad front, almost too many to count - had to give up with the clicker and count in 100s!).
Biggest numbers going through in the heavier spells of rain.
10.55 - 11.25: 10913.
11.25 - 11.55: 11555 (slowed down a lot as skies started to clear).
11.55 - 12.55: 11930 (still going through in small numbers).
Finally reached 12004 at 13.07 hrs.
Meadow Pipits still moving late afternoon, flocks of 6-30. None after 18.40 hrs.
Did not have chance to count much else, but not a lot moving except Skylarks which are probably under recorded.
