Cold and foggy this morning c6c east light. 114 Herring Gulls were on the wader scrape with a Goldcrest nearby. 23 Canada Geese were found in various parts, a Water Rail called and a Cetti's sang. 3 Peregrines were seen at Ardagh Glassworks yesterday (per K Bannister)
No sign of Bittern tonight after a patient wait, but c40 Starlings came in to roost (D. Standish/JP).
February was another record breaking month for this site thanks to our dedicated observers. The record of 72 was set in 2017, but having equalled that with Dabchick, Goosander, Bittern, Chiffchaff, Redshank and Treecreeper got us over the line in recent days. A magnificent total of 77, not bad for a small site.
