Great News , We have now raised £451 for Swifts!

Following the sale of our pin badges, I am please to say we have now achieved our fund raising target.

I set a target of £450 based on margins etc. Thank you to everyone who bought badges and made donations.

I still have 39 badges left if anyone would like one. You can buy from ebay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wakefield-District-Swift-Group-Limited-Edition-Pin-Badge/303906919255?hash=item46c2439357:g:~20AAOSw5J5gP7wR

Or directly from me – chrisswaine8262@hotmail.com or @croftonbirder on twitter.

We have already bought 4 nest boxes from peak boxes. These are a proven design and well built.

7 Nesting places ready to go.....

The boxes are being placed:

South Kirkby= Double Box (BBSG area)

South Elmsall = Double Box (BBSG area)

Hemsworth = Single box (BBSG Area)

New Crofton= Double Box (BBSG Area…..Just about)

We are now actively looking for people who are wanting a box. In particular we would like to hear from people with colonies nearby. Based on the map printed in the Breeding Birds book, I have identified the following areas within the Wakefield District which fall in the Barnsley BSG area:

Woolley (Woolley Grange)

New Crofton (Lump area)

Hemsworth

Ryhill

Kinsley

Fitzwilliam

South Elmsall

South Kirkby

I have created a flow chart to see if your home is suitable?
