The Edge 04.02.16

A good start to the day with a Water Rail and a Little Egret in the Bulling Dyke, opposite the Old Moor Tavern.
Wombwell Ings - Present were 222 Canada Geese, 3 Greylag, 1 Shelduck, 197 Wigeon, 13 Teal, 5 Mallard, 5 Tufted Duck, 2m+3f Goosander, 3 Shoveler, 1m+1f Pochard, 4 Grey Heron, 3 Little Egret, 10 Coot, 2 Moorhen, 121 Golden Plover, 60+ Lapwing, 66 BH Gull, 3 Common Gull and 2+ singing Skylark.
TPT - 1 Jay
Bolton Ings - On the open water were 2 Mute Swan, 5m+8f Pochard, 12 Tufted Duck, 12 Gadwall, 10 Teal, 7 Shoveler, 7 Mallard, 3m+3f Goosander, 1m+2f Goldeneye, 2 Great Crested Grebe, 1 Little Grebe, 134 Coot, 2 Moorhen, 107 BH Gull and 6 Common Gull. Also present were 6 Cormorant ,1 calling Green Woodpecker and 1 Snipe.
