Carlton Marsh

The wader scrape is still flooded. This morning 6 Herring Gulls, 2 LBB Gulls and 105 BH Gulls.

Butterflies on the embankment included 6 GV White, 5 Small White, 6 Gatekeeper, c75 Peacock and 8 Painted lady. A male Emperor and 3 Ruddy Darters were notable (CG).

This evening the fledged juv Buzzard was calling to its parents and 2 Kingfishers were on the main scrape with pairs of Tufted Duck and their young. Two juv. Great Spot Woodpeckers were calling and a massive Carp surfaced and scared the Moorhens (Dave Smith).
