Carlton Marsh

The wader scrape was disturbed this morning by shooters on a piece of land under different management. However, elsewhere Little Egret was seen along with Willow Tit, Green Woodpecker and Buzzard (Jim Plant).

It will be worth watching the wader scrape in case the reported Baltic-type Gull, Caspian and Yellow - legged Gulls, seen at the glass recycling centre at Carlton by Daniel Langston, come for a wash and brush up.

This afternoon 2 Buzzards were up and a Swift was seen.
Butterflies included 47 Painted Lady, 37 Peacock, 1 Brown Argus, 6 Red Admiral, 6 Comma and 2 Ringlet.
Dragonflies on the wing were 2 Southern Hawker and a Migrant Hawker.
Latticed Heath and Yellow Shell moths were disturbed from the long grass and a fresh dead Common Shrew was on the path (Chris Parkin).
