Wombwell Ings - Present were 6 Mute Swan, 112 Canada Geese, 27 Greylag, 25 Mallard, 11 Shoveler, 11 Gadwall, 2 Teal, 1 Little Grebe, 1 Little Egret, 1 Grey Heron, 1 Kestrel, 1 Peregrine, 52 Lapwing, 1 Common Sandpiper, 63 BH Gull, 1 Kingfisher and 1 Reed Bunting.
The Fleet - A Turnstone, first seen by K. Fellows at c9.30am, moved over to the Ings and shortly after ten o'clock turned up on Broomhill Flash. Also viewable were 79 Canada Geese, 3 Greylag, 1 Little Egret, 2 Kestrel, 40+ Lapwing, 8 LBB Gull and 1 BH Gull.
Broomhill Flash - Noted were 2+3y Mute Swan, 2 Canada Geese, 89 Mallard, 74 Gadwall, 30+ Tufted Duck, 9+ Shoveler, 20+ Little Grebe, 1 Little Egret, 5 Cormorant, 2 Red Legged Partridge, 2 Kestrel, 159 Coot, 120+ Lapwing, 4 Snipe, and 2+3y LBB Gull. Early morning P. Kent also had a Wheatear.
Bolton Ings - Highlight was the extended views in flight of two Bittern. At 12.20pm, one was seen flying westward along the near edge of the east pool. The second bird flew from the right hand corner halfway along the far edge at 12.43pm. On the open water were 3+4y Mute Swan, 7 Greylag, 5 Canada Geese, 12 Gadwall, 6 Pochard, 4 Mallard, 3 Tufted Duck, 1 Shoveler, 5+2y Great Crested Grebe, 5 Little Grebe, 5 Cormorant, 1 Grey Heron ,183 Coot and 1 BH Gull. Also present were 2 Kestrel and 50+ Goldfinch.
