Carlton Marsh

New in today was a Great Crested Grebe, only our 11th record. (Keith Bannister et al) It was a Carlton Marsh tick for Jim Plant. Also present this morning were 21 Tufted Duck, 3 Cormorant, 2 Water Rail, Snipe, Buzzard, Willow Tit, Siskin, 3 singing Song Thrush and 3 Mistle Thrush. (J.Plant/R. Laverack)

A Curlew was reported at 16.33hrs and a pair of Goosander, 6 Greylag and 4 Canada Geese were present. (Dave Standish)

NB
Reading the tweets it would appear that John Hewitt has retired and is moving to the coast. May I add my best wishes John for all that you have done to promote Barnsley birding over the past 40 years. Happy birding at Spurn.
