Edderthorpe, Tuesday am
The last week of May is usually the peak time for the northern form of Ringed Plover - 'Tundra Ringed Plover' in the Barnsley area as they move north back to their breeding grounds up in the high Arctic regions. Birds were moving yesterday and are today also;- 14 were on the Flash with 4 Dunlin early doors but despite the rain all headed off northwards at 06.15, continuing their long journey northwards.
Avocet 2, Teal 1. No sign of the Spoonbill present yesterday up to 07.00 at least.
