Wombwell Ings early AM- Oops, didn't know about the restrictions, so from the hide I saw 1 Little Egret, 4 Grey Heron, 25 Greylag, 16 Mallard(+broods5,4), 14 Gadwall, 5 Shoveler, 3 Teal, 20+ Lapwing, 2 Oystercatcher, 2 Greenshank, 1 LRP, 1 Ringed Plover, 2 Kestrel, 5 Linnet and 1 Grey Partridge. Singing males- 2 Skylark, 2 Chiffchaff and 1 Reed Bunting.
Broomhill Flash mid AM- Present were 1 Grey Heron, 11 Little Grebe, 2 Mute Swan, 53 Canada Geese, 1 Greylag, 8 Tufted Duck(+broods 9,7,6,4,5,3), 4 Mallard(+brood of 2), 6 Gadwall(+ broods 10, 7, 3), 2 Shoveler(+brood of 6), 1 juv Shelduck and 2 Kestrel.
Bolton Ings late AM- A battle royal between two Great crested Grebes ended with the the intervention of two Coots. Wasn't sure if they were acting as bouncers or just joining the ruck. Singing males included 4 Whitethroat, 3 Blackcap, 2 Chiffchaff, 1 Grasshopper Warbler and 1 Sedge Warbler. On the open water were 3 adult Great Crested Grebe+3 young, 3 adult Mute Swan+6 cygnets, 32 Canada Geese, 26 Greylag, 37 Tufted Duck(+broods 10,8,8,7,7,6,6,6,5,3,3), 15 Pochard(+broods8,3), 7 Gadwall(broods 10,8,3)and 4 Mallard. Also present were 8 Cormorant, 26 Lapwing, 2 Oystercatcher, 1 Spotted Redshank, 2 LBB Gull and 1 Kestrel.
