On Wednesday (19th), the Mayor and Lady Mayoress of Barnsley came to present the group with the Green Flag Award for the reserve, and to officially open the new Salter Gate Hide.
Also present were Councillors Joe Hayward, Anita Cherryholme, James Higginbottom and retired Councillor Charlie Wraith. Also present Parks Officer for BMBC, Russ Boland and members of Carlton Marsh Wildlife Group, Keith Bannister, Dave Smith, Dave Tattershall & CG.
